About the Brand

The problem we started with

Most womenswear is designed for a sample size that doesn't exist, photographed once, and built to survive about as long as the trend it belongs to. You've owned those pieces. The blazer that pulls across the back. The fabric that looked like silk in the photo and pilled after four wears. The occasion dress you saw on three other women at the same occasion.

None of that is normal. We had simply stopped questioning it.

How we make things instead ->

Fit comes first.

Every pattern is cut around how real bodies are actually shaped. Shoulders that don't pull. Waists that sit where they should. Shirts that stay closed at the button that usually gapes.

Fabric is chosen by hand.

We hold every material to one test: will this still look good after a year of real wear? If it pills, fades, or loses its shape, it doesn't make the cut.

Detailing is done by hand.

Our embellished pieces are beaded by artisans, one bead at a time, front and back. No plain panels where you think nobody will look.

'MEYAN'

Meyan comes from two ideas: meyam - to measure - and maan - standard.

Together they hold the whole belief. That exceptional clothing begins with thoughtful proportion, refuses to compromise on quality, and ends in a fit that feels effortless to wear.

A measure, held to a standard. It seemed like the right thing to name a clothing brand after.
